Commercial Tool Group, located in Comstock Park, MI is looking for experienced Boring Mill Machinist! We are looking for 2nd Shift, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate must have experience 5+ years specifically with 3 or 4 axis machining.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set the job up, place on the table using the hoist, indicate proper alignment.

  • Select and place the proper drills in the machine; operate the machine.

  • Splits the block or picks-up the block using tooling ball locations.

  • Remove the job from the machine using the hoistthen forward the job to the next activity; perform milling as needed.

  • Operates single- or multiple-spindle drill press to bore holes to perform machining operations on metal, nonmetallic, or plastic workpieces.

  • Installs tool in spindle.

  • Selects cutting tool according to instructions and knowledge of metal properties.

  • Positions and secures workpiece on table with bolts, jigs, clamps, shims, or other holding devices, using machining hand tools.

  • Studies machining instructions to determine dimensional and finish specifications, sequence of operation, setup, and tooling requirements.

  • Lifts workpiece either manually or with hoist onto machine table, or directs crane operator to lift and position workpiece.

  • Verifies conformance of machined work to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and fixed and telescoping gauges.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficient computer skills including the use of MS office
  • Experience with WorkNC or PowerMill is preferred
  • Ability to interact effectively with various departments in the organization
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Must possess strong work values; Dependability, honesty, self-confidence and a positive attitude
  • A minimum of five 5 years of 3 or 4-axis experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
