CG Automation & Fixture, Inc. located in Comstock Park, MI is looking for an experienced CMM Operator!

CMM Operator is responsible for processing/inspecting fixtures, performing part layouts and repeatability studies to ensure that all company & customer requirements are met.
CMM Operator will be able to communicate with the design team to acquire necessary CAD data required for inspection by communicating with various manufacturing team members.
CMM Operator will be skilled at interpreting inspection requirements from GD&T, verbal or written instructions or from a CG Automation & Fixture, Inc. standardized inspection criteria as specified by the Project Engineer or Supervisor. With the assistance of the Project Engineer or Supervisor the CMM Operator will schedule & execute as necessary to maintain efficient & timely workflow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect, test and measure products, components & materials using CMM and hand gages as required.
- Gauge R & R
- Report findings to supervisor and take appropriate action.
- Ability to read and understand customer specifications, job orders and work instructions.
- Must have previous experience performing inspections and writing CMM programs. Previous experience with programming Metrolog X4 software a plus.
- Utilize CAD programs to perform operations as required.
- Document all inspection results promptly, provide reports in clear and acceptable format. Provide notice to Supervisor & Project Engineer when completed.
- Comply with CG Automation & Fixture, Inc. safety & health rules.
- Follow ISO-17025 and ISO-9001 procedures written in Quality Manual.
- Must have efficient computer skills and be proficient using Excel.
- Must have basic understanding of GD&T.
Manufacturing office environment with frequent exposure to production areas. The position will require wearing of common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, hard hats and masks as designated by company policy. The position may require standing or walking for extended periods of time.
