CG Automation & Fixture CGAF, located in Comstock Park, MI is looking for a Machine Builder Apprentice! The Machine Build Apprentice is an entry level position for an individual that is interest in becoming a machinist or machine builder. This position will require the individual to work in the machine shop under supervision while at the same time pursuing a journeyman certification.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Fit and assemble components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches, and knowledge of machine construction.
- Understands and follows safety & environmental regulations and identifies safety/environmental concerns.
- Effectively and safely operating hand and power tools, mills, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, saws, and shears
- Analyze assembly blueprint, schematic, and specifications manuals used in machine building operations.
- Verifies conformance of parts to bill of material and drawings, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers
- Lay out hole locations and drill and tap holes on parts for assembly.
- Align components for assembly, manually or with hoist, and bolts, screws, dowels, weld, or rivet parts together.
- Construct, rebuild, and repair machines and equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
- Machine start-up and packaging
Essential Education & Abilities
- Ability to interact effectively with various departments in the organization.
- Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong math /computer skills.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds regularly.
- High Schools degree/GED.
