Position Overview

CTG is seeking an experienced Automation Design Engineer to join our growing Engineering/Design Team. This role is ideal for a creative problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about designing equipment and automation that improve how products are made.

This position offers flexibility to work hybrid or fully remote.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop automated equipment, tooling, and mechanisms supporting CTG's commitment to innovative manufacturing solutions.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings-Siemens NX experience preferred.
• Conduct engineering analysis to ensure design reliability, manufacturability, and compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Controls, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management.
• Prepare and lead design reviews, contributing technical expertise and creative problem-solving.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and designers, reinforcing CTG's culture of growth, collaboration, and excellence.
• Support integration, testing, and continuous improvement of automated systems.
• Document work clearly and professionally to support internal processes and customer requirements.

What You Bring

• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, automation design, or machine design.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Design, or related field (preferred).
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD; Siemens NX strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems, motion control, pneumatics, and general automation principles.
• Ability to mentor junior talent with patience, clarity, and technical expertise.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills aligned with CTG's collaborative culture.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Self-driven mindset with the ability to thrive in hybrid or remote work environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, or design-for-manufacturability.
• Familiarity with automation integration, sensors, actuators, or robotics.
• Working knowledge of FEA tools or basic engineering simulation.
